My new header. and W.I.P.

Have been  home from work beause of backproblems -locked pelvis. Yes AGAIN.
So I haven´t had much opportunity to paint. Haven´t been able to sit at all. And it is kind of impossible to paint watercolour laying down on my back. Well have been to the doctor a few days ago, and he gave me some tough painkillers. They are helping me alot so that I can do some gymnastics for my back to get stronger again. I was such a fool to carry a sofa at work! Well anyway. With help of the painkillers I had at least a little time to paint. I will show you the result here.

But before showing you some new photos; I want to ask you if you have experienced any problems with logging in to your blogs? I have. You can read about this after the photos.

I hope you will enjoy the W.I.P. It´s allways fun to go back and look at the progress that you have gone through with your paintings. But I don´t allways take the time doing it.

How I present them: I start with the finished painting, and bellow that I post some W.I.P. photos (with start from the bottom).

Ok, I couldn´t resist  ;)  using my sandpaper a little on the  top left leave.

Here I´ve erased the masking -medium on the
small flower at the bottom and painted some
yellow -green on the small blue triangle at
the top-right. I chose the yellow -green because
the triangle was blue, and I therefore knew
that the colour would be more blue -green
when dried. Just as I wanted it. I use
transparent water colours when I paint, so I let the
colours mix on the paper. Allways have to think about
how the colours appear together after dried! (above).

Here you see where I painted the spots. You can also see
the white spots now after I removed the
 masking -medium (above).

You can see some of the masking -medium that is
still left in the bottom middle (above).

The masking -medium is erased and you can now see
the white  spots (above).

When the first layer of paint has dried I go on painting spots with first
Burnt Umber and after that has dried Sepia (above.)

I have painted some Raw Sienna (above).

I put some masking -medium to cover up where I want the whites.

First it said that I was logged in to the blogg. I could see the mainpage of my art-blogg. But when I clicked the "B" -button (up to the left) I could read that I didn´t have any blogs! (And I actually have THREE now!)  Well I don´t think I need to tell you, but I panict !!! After some time of trying, the logging in window showed. But I couldn´t see the ordinary e-mail -adress that I usually use when I logg in to my Google-acount. Instead I could choose two other adresses. My two g-mail-adresses. When I tried to logg in with them I ended up in my Google + profile instead of in my art-blog. It said that maybe I had logged in to another account as I have more than one blogg, but I don´t understand why this hasn´t happend earlier then, if that is the problem. I allways have logged in with ONE special e-mail-adress to my Google accound.
Ok. Lucky me I had saved my mobile phone-number in Google in case there would be a problem with my account, so I could change my password, as I HAD to do something to try to solve my problem. The way it is now when I want to logg in to Google is that; two of my g-mail-adresses shows plus I can choose to write another adress myself. I write another mailadress; the old one PLUS my newly changed password. But WHY do I have to choose account now? AND I don´t wish for my followers/readers to end up in my Google+ profile if they follow my link back from a comment of mine. I want the link to go  back to my artblog. This teqnical stuff is not my "thing" as you allready know, but a neccesary evel if I want to have a blogg.

Oh! I almost forgot! I have a new fabolous link: The amazing pouring -tutorial by Leslie Redhead. You find the link to the right. I promise you: it is so fun to watch.

  1. This caught my eye right away in my blog list! The striking contrast between subject and background is so bold and dramatic, and yet the flower itself is so gentle and subtle. Beautiful, breathtaking piece! I like the step by step pictures too.

    1. Well Jane, I will hopefully soon get a new apartment, so I will have to move stuff. But I think I will leave the heavy lifting to my son and daughter. She is 15 so she is strong. And my son is 23. I have to think about how to pack the boxes so they woun´t get too heavy. Thank you. Glad you like the painting!

    1. Your kind coment makes me happy Mercedes :) Thank you! I tried to make the whole painting as my new header, but it didn´t fit! I guess I will have to take a new smaller photo with the camera, the smallest photo I can take. I would only like to cut some of from top and bottom of the painting And keep most of the sides. Well, let´s see If I will do that some day. Take care!

  8. Dear Catharina - I hope your back and pelvis are healing. Sounds to me like you have really been suffering. Your painting is gorgeous...and thank you so much for showing it in progress. It is wonderful to see how one works. Just love it. Take care.

    1. I do like too to see how others made there paintings, so think I should show sometimes too. But it takes time to do it so I can´t do it too often if I want to have time left to paint myself :) But I also think that it is good for myselft. I can go back to look some at my earlier paintings. You learn some from making your progress visible to yourself. Well, I have had a terrible backpain this time. For over a week I only could lay on my back in my sofa watching tv and reading blogs. Couldn´t sit or stand up or walk without holding on to something. But I´m getting better, started working today. With a little help from strong painkillers and training several times a day, my back is slowly getting better every day. Thank you for your visit Debbie :) Take care.

  9. I'm so so sorry to hear that you have back/pelvic problems again. It doesn't seem long since you had it before, what rotten luck!! I just hope you recover quicker this time. I love the painting and new header. You've got some lovely, clean, bright colours and it's a wonderful composition. I have had problems with blog, I have tried to post comments only to find they crash and delete at the end! I always put some problems down to my stone age computer though. Take care, I hope you feel better soon.

    1. This is the third time around having a locked pelvis in the last 10 month I think. And this time it was the worst. But I went to my "doktor" or I don´t know exactly what to call him. He gives me training -advice and pulls my legs and stretches my body so that I will be fully "move-able" again. And I also went to another doctor this time, a regular doctor, he gave me the strong painkillers, because he said I needed them to be able to move again so that I can get well faster. The sad thing about getting sick like this, is that you loose so much money when staying home from work. Next month will be a very poor month. Yes I know, old computers is not fun. Writing coments and then just watch them dissapare is NOT fun at all. Thank you so much for stoping by and leaving a sweet coment Kev. Hope that you are feeling better too. Take care !

  18. Oh I love your new header! The colors are wonderful and they tell me spring is coming soon! Your photostory looks great! I've never worked with mask medium but I would like to try it too. I hope your poor bad back get's well soon! And lucky me but up to now I hadn't any problems with the login but it's good to know that you are an expert now in case something like that will arise ;)

  19. It will be spring all year round now then Stefanie ;) About masking medium: On this painting it worked nicely with the masking medium but sometimes it gets just too much. It is sometimes difficult to get the right shapes with it. So it is not allways good. But here with those round white marks it was perfect. I didn´t want to use a white pen afterwards as it would be too obvious, and show on top of the surface of the paper. Haha me an expert of computer problems? Well, I can tell you: I paniced! So happy that it is ok now!! Thank you for your visit Stefanie :)
