Finished? Maybe.

I have been working some more with this painting.  I painted some Frensh Ultramarine on the water to deepen the colour and to get a warmer feeling. Earlier I had Antwerp blue.
My thoughts now? Well; I like the warmer feeling of it now and the contrasts and the deeper feeling that I got through the contrasts. But I would like the leaves a little looser. I want some leaves to show but I don´t know if this is too strikt or what too call it? How to loosen up amongst the leaves and still have leaves left there? Any ideas? It is so hard to know what is enough and what is too much. I thought of just putting some water on top with the brush after dried, but I am affraid of the whites getting colour on them. That wouldn´t be good would if, as I want to keep the big contrasts.

Below is the earlier version of the painting!
Too little contrast and a bit too cold.

Enhorabuena!!!

    1. Oh you like the first one best? It is so fun how different all our likes are when it comes to paintings, well it is not only about paintings, it is about everything. So therefor it is far more important to make yourself happy about your paintings, than to try to please others. because THAT is totally impossible! Right Jesús! Thank you for a very uplifting and honest coment Jesús! Wishing you a lovely week!

  2. Maybe you can soften the leaves by wetting some of them and use paper towel to dab the water and paint up. The light in the painting is beautiful and I like the different blues in the water!
Copyright is Cntrl-Alt-c, that is how I do it.

    1. Thank you Judy for trying to help me! I was looking at my keyboard and thinking that all happens for a reason. :) I though that I must have been pressing some keys by mistace. I found a key named "Insert -pause Brk", just beside the "delete" key. I pressed it and tried to make my copyrightmark again. Voalá! It worked!! I will follow your sugestion about the painting too. Doing that it should not darken the light areas anything at all. Hope you have a great week ahead Judy!

  4. Having intensified the darks the first thing I noticed here was the fabulous light ! I agree with Judy on trying to soften the leaves , but you are definitely on the right track :-))

    1. I´m so happy that you noticed the light Jane, because this is something I´m striving to achieve. And I am working further with the leaves the way that Judy said. I think it will be even better for my painting. thank you for visiting and comenting Jane :)

  5. Beautiful light with the addition of the darks. I would follow Judy's advice on how to proceed, she is great with soft edges, they are hard to do! You could always add masking fluid to the areas if you are afraid to loose the white areas. I love the contrasts in the painting so far.

    1. I am following Judys idea with softening the leaves a bit. So far I think it´s good to do that way. I think I skip the masking medium, and work very carefully instead. Sometimes it just has to take some time before completed. Thank you Celia!
