Ok, here is the continuing WIP from last post. Below the
latest photo of the painting I also show the first photo
so that you can compare and see what has happened
since last time.

WIP-photo below!
(To be continued)

I have thoughts about painting some leaves hanging
on the left side to balance the painting a bit.
But in a very soft manner and with a lot of light on them.

And below is the WIP from last post!

  2. I am especially liking the stems... the richer colours are making them pop as is the background... I think this is looking pretty amazing as it is but will look forward to what you do with it next...xx

  5. Hi Catharina, this is a beautiful tulip painting. The only thing I want to ask you is why these blue shades on the stems? To me it seems like they are cut out and lied one over another. Good idea to put some leaves on too. Have a good weekend.

    1. Hi Hanneke :)
Thank you for your comment! Well, about the shadows on the stems: I like a lot of contrast in a painting. The difference between light and dark, and also when it looks more 3 dimentional, when it "pops".
Before I didn´t do much of shadowing and I thought my paintings looked to flat. Plus I didn´t seem to get any lights in my paintings. And I love light. Maybe sometimes I make too much contrast now, but I think that is my developement. After some time I think that I will be able to find a good balance. Now I experiment a lot, because I think that is a good way for me to learn. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Take care :)
