I have thoughts about painting some leaves hanging
on the left side to balance the painting a bit.

DeleteHi Catharina, this is a beautiful tulip painting. The only thing I want to ask you is why these blue shades on the stems? To me it seems like they are cut out and lied one over another. Good idea to put some leaves on too. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Hanneke :)
DeleteThank you for your comment! Well, about the shadows on the stems: I like a lot of contrast in a painting. The difference between light and dark, and also when it looks more 3 dimentional, when it "pops".
Before I didn´t do much of shadowing and I thought my paintings looked to flat. Plus I didn´t seem to get any lights in my paintings. And I love light. Maybe sometimes I make too much contrast now, but I think that is my developement. After some time I think that I will be able to find a good balance. Now I experiment a lot, because I think that is a good way for me to learn. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Take care :)
A mi me gustan estos últimos tulipanes , están muy lindos de color, y hay unas delicadas transparencias, veremos como quedan con las hojas
