Down by the water

This time I wanted to keep it very simple.

I have fixed this photo a little in Picasa, so that it looks
more of the same quality as the original painting than the first
posting I did. The water looks a little more blue now (click the photo
to enlarge it; it shows better that way) . And I have made the photo
a bit sharper than before. Also more like the original painting.

By the way; I have still not decided what painting to
give to the auktion. How hard can it be!  :(

Titel: Down by the water, Size: 24 x 20 cm, Arches rough.

Have you missed the post "Hiding in the leaves"?
Well, if that´s so; here´s a shortcut to that post.
But hey! You have one futher down first!

Happy painting to all of you blogfriends! Wellcome back! :)

  3. Hi Catharina, lovely painting "less is more". The only thing I wonder:is it water at both sides or snow at one side? I miss a difference in colour but it can be the photo.

    1. It is water on both sides. It is only a light wash of blue. It shows better in reality.
But then again; it is not up to the artist to change the viewers interpret of the painting.
All of us interpret differently what we see. And that is the fun part of looking at "art".
      Glad you like it :)

  4. Hello Catharina:) This is a really nice painting. Almost abstract. The colors are stunning. It maybe simple to you but it doesn't look like it. I love it. Very nice job done!

    1. Thank you Renate :) I´m glad you like it. It was very simple to make compared to all the layers I had to work with on the other one, plus smaller.

  6. Why there are only 2 posts on your page? On purpose? Why not to make 7 or ten or more to show more of your latest treasures? (I did not mean to sound like advertising).
I like to present my drawings to the friends but I can not start any action to sell them, deep inside I think it would be some kind of betrayal.
I like the abstract feel of this painting.

    1. ;) I have increased the amount of posts now to...four. That will do.

Irina, I know the feeling. But then again, it cost alot of both money and work to make a beautyful painting. So ofcourse you must have some money for it. And they are also nice presents at birthdays and christmas and so on, right? That way you save also, because you don´t have to spend that much money to buy one. Accept from the frame then ofcourse, and that can cost some, atleast if the painting is big. Keep it smaller ;)
