Friends

Can´t believe that this painting actually is the third one with birds
that I have made. And I was stucked to painting flowers earlier.
Congratulations to myself!
(  Is that allowed?  ;)   )

I´m thinking of trying to paint the same in a looser style. I haven´t
made up my mind about that yet.
Thinking, thinking.

I wonder if it should be better, maybe, to make the looser one
a bit bigger than this one. I think that maybe it´s easier if I have
some more space to play around with the pigments.
Do you believe that too?

I have done some changes to the blog. I have moved some of
the links down to the bottom of the blog. In case you wonder. It´s
all beacause I want to keep everything on the blog
"all together" as much as possible.

  1. Simpática acuarela bien realizada, me gusta. En cuanto a tu comentario... dicen que cuanto mas grande es el formato, es mas difícil realizar una acuarela. :) . Felicidades por el trabajo!

  3. Lovely work Catharina and I think you have done the right thing. To go looser we need to know the subject in detail so we know what to leave out. I hope that makes sense. I like your birds. Please do more. :-)

    1. Thank you so much Laura. Happy you like it :)
Yes I think I know what you mean. And I also did this one small so that I could make the first tryout quite fast. My youngest daughter said to me when I first showed the painting to her; "You are crazy mum! How can you finish that painting that fast!". She is used to that my paintings are on the workdesk for atleast a few days, and that I paint a few minutes at a time. And not all at ones.
I promise. There will be more birds!

    2. Catharina I know what you mean about speed but being loose does not mean speed necessarily. We need speed when we paint each wash or the next layer but then we also need a lot of thinking and planning time too. With lots of mistakes and practice along the way on separate pieces of paper and above all plenty of 'drying time' before the next stage is added... but I know you know all this anyway. Enjoy!!!
